Official Tailors to Fremantle Dockers

12 March, 2023

We’re proud to announce that we will outfit the entire Fremantle Dockers AFL and AFLW squad for the next three years as their Official Tailor, as well as their management, coaching and support teams, with a suite of custom, made-to-measure garments.

InStitchu Co-Founder James Wakefield says the partnership is an exciting milestone for the business: “We’re very proud to partner with Fremantle as their Official Tailors for the 2023 season and beyond. The Fremantle club are an amazing organisation, full of passion and history. We’ve already got an incredibly loyal network of customers across Perth, opening our third Showroom in the city at Karrinyup last year on top of our beautiful locations at Claremont and St Georges Terrace in the CBD. With this partnership we can’t wait to meet and introduce even more Western Australians and Aussie footy fans to custom, made-to-measure InStitchu tailoring.”

Fremantle CEO Simon Garlick welcomed InStitchu to the Fremantle family:

“The Fremantle Dockers are thrilled to partner with InStitchu for the next three seasons in both the AFL and AFLW,” Garlick said. “As well as being at our best on the field, we want our players looking their best off the field. Wearing InStitchu, we know our players, coaches, management and staff will feel both proud and comfortable when representing the Fremantle Dockers during our busy events schedule or when on the road.

“InStitchu went to great lengths to come up with an outfit that is quintessentially ‘Freo’, and the pride they’ve shown in their work as well as their attention to detail is something both of our organisations share.”

The Fremantle Dockers designed a grey linen tailored blazer, with a custom club lining and player number monogrammed on the inner breast pocket of each suit, as well as custom navy cotton chinos. InStitchu Co-Founder Robin McGowan says the design reflect the club’s personality and needs in a contemporary yet classic way:

“We worked really closely with the Fremantle Dockers to ensure their look in 2023 and beyond captured their club spirit and needs. Using a lightweight linen in a neutral grey tone and timeless navy chinos emphasise a modern and relaxed versatility that was essential for the club, because it’s suitable for hot weather, lots of travel and movement, and a range of events and needs, from post game functions to press events. We also wanted to bring the Fremantle personality to life through little custom details, with a club logo lining and each player number monogrammed on the inside, so that each player and staff member wears their InStitchu garment with pride. We’re really honoured to partner with the Fremantle Dockers as their Official Tailor and we can’t wait to see the club hit the 2023 AFL and AFLW season with a new custom, made-to-measure InStitchu look. To be part of their proud tradition and story gives us a lot of pride.”

COO and CFO at InStitchu, Ronnie Staub, says that bringing the partnership to life has been an exciting journey: “To work with Fremantle has been fantastic. Their player group and management team bring so much passion and energy to the partnership, and we’re really grateful to be their Official Tailor for the next three years. They brought a lot of ideas and personality to the process of designing a custom, tailored look that would reflect the club, and it’s been a collaborative process we’ve loved being part of.”
